I am Ruairi Devlin, Founder and Chairman of The Micro Business Awards.

How long have you been in business?

We held our first awards in 2016.

What is your product or service?

We recognise and support the most innovative microprenuers across the island of Ireland.

Why did you start your business?

As a tax consultant I saw the lack of recognition for Micro Business Owners, and wanted to give something back.

What are you most passionate about in your business?

Watching businesses develop and grow year on year.

Where do you see yourself and your business in 5 years time?

I would love to see more people enter, and make the judges decision even more difficult.

What is your advice for anyone who wants to start a business?

Don't be afraid to outsource what you are not good at. Use your time wisely to focus on what drives you.

Is there anything you dislike about being a business owner?

Being a business owner can be very lonely. Buiild a community of like minded individuals even if only for a cup of coffee once a month.

How do you promote your business?

We rely heavily on social media.
